Today’s post is celebrating one of God’s soldiers who has impacted lives through his ministry, books, across churches, and across continents.
His name is Randy Alcorn.
Randy Alcorn (born June 23, 1954) is an American Protestant author and director of Eternal Perspective Ministries, a non-profit Christian organization. He has written over forty books, including The Apostle graphic novel, The Treasure Principle (over two million sold) Heaven (over one million sold), Courageous, Money-Possession & Eternity, Safely Home, Deadline, Dominion, and Deception. He also received a Gold Medallion Book Award in 2003 for his novel Safely Home. His books have been translated into over seventy languages and have sold over ten million copies. Randy has written for many magazines including EPM’s issues-oriented magazine Eternal Perspectives.
He is quite active on social media – twitter, facebook, blog, and has been a guest on more than 700 radio, television and online programs including Focus on the Family, FamilyLife Today, revive Our Hearts, and The Bible Answer Man.
Eternal Perspective Ministries owns the royalties to his books and 100 percent of them are given away to support missions, famine relief, pro-life work, and other ministries.
He wrote an intense book called “Happiness” in which he dispels centuries of misconceptions about happiness and provides indisputable proof that God not only wants us to be happy, He commands it. He wrote a novel similar to C.S. Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters called Lord Foulgrin’s Letters. In between the letters actual scenes from the humans lives unfold. He has also written a sequel to Lord Foulgrin’s Letters entitled The Ishbane Conspiracy, which he co-authored in 2001 with his two daughters, Karina and Angela Alcorn (now both grown and married).
Randy resides in Gresham, Oregon, with his wife, Nanci. They have two married daughters and five grandsons.
Looking back at the life of Randy Alcorn, we can infer that he is devoted to his family as well. He co-authored a book with his daughters. If that isn’t a parent-children goal, I don’t know what it is. His wife has been by his side through these years and always his number support. (I smell relationship goals here)
